Sadness, grief, mourning, what to say, no words, nothing to say, silence being the only way to deal with the atrocity of these Las Vegas murders. Firstly to wonder if your friends who live in Las Vegas are okay or if not. Wondering how to reach out to those who are directly affected by these killings, families who have lost their children, children who have lost their parents, an enjoyment of music turning into a massive murdering of innocent people.
An attack on Country Music, Country Music being our country, the country of The United States of America. Music that expresses pride in our nation, pride of our families who are citizens of The United States of America. A type of music that is uplifting and encouraging to its listeners to keep on trying, to keep on being good citizens of a good country, a nation maybe not without flaws, but not to bring the Walking Dead of Halloween to our homes, to our TV sets, where can we go to mourn, to get away, to find goodness and righteousness? Looking for a bomb shelter but the bombs have already fallen and the dead has died.
Go to a quiet place, your temples and churches, your village libraries, a couch in which to sit as you try to comprehend the incomprehensible. The death of 58 and the injuries of over 500. To remember the attacks of September 11, to remember the 6 million killed in the Holocaust, to mourn the Japanese who were killed in the World Wars, to wonder how to put an end to killings after killings. To ban guns, to ban rifles, but what then to use if you are in defense of a crime towards you?
Just to put it all on hold, to use silence and prayer as your way to cope. To find an expression to release your anxieties over this horrible happening. Not to give up on trying to help those who are directly afflicted.
