Take a seat, be in waiting. What are we waiting for? What are we not waiting for?
Waiting in a doctor's office, heart attack or reflux? Swallow some baby aspirin, two or four and wait some more.
Waiting for Godot? Whose Godot? Godot is God with a Hebrew feminine plural ending as OT. God and Ot=something worth waiting for. Can I pass you a carrot while we wait together? You step and lean on one foot and I will lean on the other foot. We can and will wait together. God is coming.
Waiting for the Messiah. Waiting and waiting, waiting as well for Kraft Cream Cheese to go on sale. Cream cheese for bagels. Lots of it, mounds and hills, cinnamon hills. Where are you going? To Har Zion, to Bnai Abraham Zion, going? Nowhere, God is coming to me. I am waiting and waiting patiently, going nowhere, will eat another carrot and then it is your turn.
Waiting to win a game of chess. Win a game of checkers, backgammon, a crossword puzzle, Sudoku, bingo, pokeyno. Waiting to win a raffle. Step forward and then backward, step up off one's heels three times. Say "holy, holy, holy." In Hebrew we say "Kaddosh, Kaddosh, Kaddosh."
Are you in luck? In mazal? We wish you a "mazal tov". We wish you good luck.
Two more days and we will greet all our Temple friends on Rosh Hashanah. In waiting for Rosh Hashanah Erev, and lots more...
Not waiting on Santa Claus. Not being a "Grinch" to not believe in Santa Claus. Santa Claus does not exist, but Rabbis with long white hair and long white beards do exist. In waiting for one's Rabbi. To be in song with him.
A bride in waiting for her groom. The Shabbat Bride through the doorway in a Temple Sanctuary Chapel behind us towards the East. Bow and bow again, bow again, a Bride who is married to God, her Groom every Shabbat Friday night.
Not to need an actual husband, for women to marry instead the good Lord. Not a nun or priest, not chaste, instead the wife or husband of God. God not possessing a specific gender, being human and married to God Who is not a male or female. Humans being created in the image of God.
Where to find God? Look in the mirror.
