It is not about a "belief" in G-d, it is about a TRUST in G-d. And one needs not try to envision an abstract image of G-d who cannot be seen as a ghost or physical entity. One however can worship the peace in your environment as one entire massive goodness where G-d resides with you. G-d is in all places, everywhere, in any place, where you see something good, something pleasant, you are looking at G-d.
G-d is there with you in all places. Follow His Commandments and perform His mitzvoth and this will connect you to Him. It is not about a belief in an abstract entity, it is about using wods and/or actions to follow Him, to partake in the holiness and righteousness of the rituals which praise Him and thank Him. To then be thankful for your lot, not just to accept your lot.
Not to imagine something that we cannot see. Just to feel His presence in all places as we feel peace and to petition Him in private prayer, as well as to daven t'fillah to Him. To ascend up a Ladder of Jacob, to the very top with Him in the Heavens and to bring His goodness down to Earth to share with others.
Taking the meditative state you feel when you are davening and use it to purify yourself, to take this purity and offer chesed [lovingkindness] to others, to do your duty in this world, to soar up and then to bring it all down to Earth.
How nice it would be if we could pray all day? Tefillin was worn all day in ancient times, but now it is worn only in the morning. Keep the tightness of its strap hugging your arm as a tightness of discipline to use to follow the 613 commandments and perform the 613 mitzvoth all day long everyday.
Sing praises to Him in your mind and hum them, walk to their beat. Have the music as part of your inner song that you move to as a daily way. Feel the stimulation of shouting Halleluyah in the middle of your day. Daven even while you are in mundane everyday activities in your life, carry the peace of Shabbat into your weekdays.
It is not about a "belief" it is about a trust. Trust in Him to carry you peacefully through any problem, feel Him wrapping His arms around you, walking in your steps no matter where you are or where you go.
