Do you know Torah? Have you taken classes at your Synagogue and want to teach your children or others? Are you qualified because you know it and also have a motivation to help others with your knowledge. Or is it only Rabbis with Rabbinical degrees who are qualified but no one else?
Moses taught his brother Aaron's children about Torah, and in this way, Aaron's children became Moses's children. But Aaron and his children wanted the knowledge and were thankful to Moses for his lessons to them.
If someone you know who could learn some Torah from you and this becomes a gain for the Jewish people as an understanding of Torah becomes wisdom and could be of a help in the pursuit of peace between religions, it is a good idea to pursue peace and exchange ideas by teaching Torah.
If what you have are daughters or sons, nieces or nephews, who know nothing, yes, it is an obligation to teach them., but only if they want to be taught.
There are people so spooked by the Jewish G-D that they cannot relate to a Jew speaking of G-D to them at all. Fear takes over, but it is their fear of the unknown. Not the appropriate fear we as Jews have of our G-D because we realize how ALL-Mighty The Lord is in our world. Better not to make anyone uncomfortable and spooked, it leads to hatred when your original plan was to pursue an exchange of knowledge without a threat of fear instead with the goal of peace.
Yes, Adonai is our G-D and as long as we act, speak, and think appropriately G-D will be better understood by non-Jews as they see in us as a good example. To follow in the footsteps of G-D and to show others how true goodness becomes greatness.
