In waiting, patiently waiting, taking last in line as we wait, waiting in grocery stores, waiting for friends to join us at restaurants, waiting for our favorite radio program, waiting for buses and trains, waiting for the sun to rise, waiting for it to set.
Standing up, leaning against a wall, leaning on one leg and then on another, in waiting, comfortably, without stress and without urgency.
Holding up a wall with one hand as we lean, holding up The Wailing Wall in Jerusalem with our caring hand, a Wall that finally became a Wall for everyone, ALL inclusive: a Wall for Men, a Wall for Women, and a Wall for Children.
Our patience won us a battle, as each year went by and passed, and we put yet another written prayer note in between the heavy yellow mortared bricks of our Western Wall in Jerusalem: we were able to win this Wall and now it is ours to keep.
As we waited and waited some more, and then we won our equal rights; we also await patiently for the arrival of The Messiah. We shift from leg to leg, watching as Prophesy fulfills itself as predicted in The Torah, Prophets and Writings.
We see each sunrise and sunset and enjoy the brilliant colors in the sky, as we wait, waiting yet again through another sunrise, another sunset...
Not to rush instead into a false belief, even though many others are in this false belief, to continue to believe as we were taught, that the Messiah, the REAL Messiah will someday arrive.
The idea being that when this Messiah, OUR Messiah arrives, He will shake the hands of everyone in the world, going from house to house, from city to city, from nation to nation, and He will shake the hands of everyone everywhere!
And that is how we will know He is The Messiah.
To wait and believe, and not to lose or give up on our prayers, that someday, sooner or later, our Messiah will come.
