THE CONCEPT OF GREATNESS

Image result for greatness

"So, you think you're great? What makes you better, what makes you great?"

Having eminence, distinction, illustriousness, repute, high standing; importance, significance, celebrity, fame, prominence, renown, "a child destined for greatness" genius, prowess, talent, expertise, mastery, artistry, virtuosity, skill, proficiency, flair, finesse, caliber, distinction, "her greatness as a writer."

Having a grandfather who was a Hebrew Levi Priest, and a great great great... grandfather who was King David.

It's all in one's genes, not one's blue jeans that are called Levi's, but in your actual genes you inherited from your ancestors who were Levis. Coloring these jeans/genes a navy blue, ripping them up and tearing holes in them, instead of tearing apart your skin out of anger that you are not a Levi like your jeans, you are just an everyday shmuck.

Becoming a follower of The Torah, and thereby mending your jeans, and then creating a lineage out of your genes for your descendants to be Levis as was your dad and grandfathers. Healing a broken lineage with a conversion to Judaism, having sewed up the holes in your blue jeans.

Wearing blue jeans out of choice, either on Saturdays or Sundays, it marks you as your religious choice to follow the Old or the New. To go forward as in English or backward as in Hebrew. To knowing that History repeats itself and thereby knowing where you came from will determine where you are going.

A future that is as bright as a Hanukkah Menorah, a series of nine candles all lighted up brilliantly, as are the candles on your birthday cake, a cake baked with applesauce as a substitute for butter, a Kosher recipe, having your cake and eating it too.

A life of eating cake instead of bread.
