As rare and scarce as a 4-leaf clover, skimming your feet in the grass to find one: this is the luckiness and rarity of my life, as a daughter of a Jewish Dad, and yet to even be a Jew myself, same as him, as a choice that was mine to take. The DNA of Judaism in my bloodstream and brain, a Father whose love and concern, his caring for me, to be the determining factor in my life, which way to go? To the left or to the right, my choice was made early in my life, as I was always proud to walk in the same footsteps as my Dad.
Historical Facts: A Jew's Jewish lineage before the date of 60 CE was determined not by his Mother's religious lineage, but instead only by his Father's Jewish lineage.
Fact: All the holy Jewish Prophets of The Torah were Patrilineal Jews. It was their Father's lineage that was the determining factor of their heritage. The 12 Tribes of Israel, all 12 Brothers and the daughter Dinah, although their Mothers were Jewish too, both Rachel and Leah, their Mother's lineage could have been anything, because they were considered Jews by the lineage of their Dads, not their Moms.
Fact: In 1983 the Reform Jews, (which is the largest population of all Jewish denominations) passed a Jewish Law, a Law of Jewish Halakhah, that all Jews who were raised Jewish in their family and had a Jewish Dad, are now hereby all considered Jews: Patrilineal Jews.
Fact: The Patrilineal Jews who were not raised Jewish had the opportunity to study Torah and learn in their adulthood what they would have learned in their childhood but did not, so this opportunity for a Patrilineal Jew, no matter if they were raised Jewish or not, became available to them with participation in classrooms held in Synagogues.
Fact: Judaism is an inclusive religion, everyone who has true good intentions to want to learn about Judaism and to be included in Jewish Synagogue life, has this opportunity. Having a Jewish Dad or Jewish Mom, either one, is now a determining factor to your inclusiveness in the Jewish religion.
Fact: Now there is scientific DNA testing that one could get in a medical facility to determine if your Father was who indeed your Mother said he was. Judaism can be traced in this DNA, one's Father can become determined, and also the Hebrew Levi or Kohayne Priesthood can be traced in one's genes by identifying one's DNA.
Yes, there became such a thing as "Father's Rights" a legal battle in the courts for Fathers to have the pleasure of raising their kids. A Jewish Dad, too has rights, and his children have the rights to follow in their Dad's footsteps as did the 12 Prophets and Dinah (and ALL the Prophets) in The Torah.
Judaism is an inclusive religion, all Jews by the Father or Mother are welcome, making Judaism even more: a richer and greater nation!
