Torching Hot Chanukah

Breakfast bagels doughy soft warm delectable, creamy cheeses and grape jellies scooping out winey purple grapes from intertwining vine, fiber crusted and tough on teeth ripping brown outer layer soft inside hard severe outside, egg-brushed crust a ripping work out: prepared for a morning battle ignoring: practicing makes perfect.

Chanukah menorah pots of fuel, crude golden oil, burning demons and ghosts. Folding legs, tightening thighs, feeling flicking flickering flames like shooting stars, diving into blasting roaring bon fires on small candles in everyone's home in windows: Lifting clouds, solstice, dark days light again no shadows shuffling, hounds not hounding, knowing anonymity. Relaxed without a hood, no games, no life threatening warnings, not today, today we play dreidel and we fight by being polite. Winning wars because that is just the way it is, threatened but missiles fly and do not hit their target.
