Sisters

Warrior sister: fighter, life-saver, rescuer, defend me to the death.
Smart sister: books, knowledge of nutrition,
Generous sister: gifts, food when I was hungry,
Welcoming sister: party, meal when there was none,
Close sister: friend, bloodline, kin, similar genetics.
Perfumes, lotions, bedtime stories, greeting cards, boxes of joy.
Sharing secrets, learning, teaching the universe.
Forming new souls, new children, new girlfriends.
Teaching words of Torah: her children are not my children.
Acknowledging her talents, respecting mine.
Gardening and sharing home-made herb teas.
Visiting in hospitals, flowers when sick.
Unconditional love: not meriting love from doing good deeds,

Purity of souls, pure love, breathing same childhood air.
Both exhausted, playing in the playground.
One a teacher, the other her assistant.
Sharks under beds, don’t fall off--save her!
Closing closets at night, monsters will not get out.
Sharing same books, but having own mind.
Own opinions, own politics, own religious beliefs.
Owning and sharing what she owns, what she can share.
Thanking Adonai for my sister. Keeping my sister in my prayers.
