Watching my carb count--actually if one quits carbs the body will be much healthier but there are some considerations to eating a low carb diet. If one does not get all the vitamins that good grains provide then we need to get them from other places. Veggies are a good source of many different vitamins and minerals and we can take supplements. Hunger pangs are actually caused by an addiction to carbs. If we significantly lower our carb intake--we will not crave more carbs and we will not be hungry. It is good to take a mineral multi-vitamin when lowering carbohydrates and eating some carbs before bedtime is recommended to prevent dizziness from Hypoglycemia. Lowering carbs prevents diabetes.
My dinner was simple and kosher. My spoon was purified and I gave away a sandwich to a hungry man and also left some food on my plate as a sacrifice to God. My mother did not eat yet and this concerned me. But I am not in control of an elder and when she eats. Part of my respect for my mother is to allow her to choose her dinner time and eat when she is hungry and if she is not hungry to not force food down her throat.
Food. It is what we nourish our bodies, minds and souls with. The world revolves around food. If someone is hungry and is too poor to buy large meals, it is best for them to only buy non-carb foods. But it is potato chips and candy bars that are the least expensive foods in the grocery stores. This is a curse for a poor person. If one buys the candy bar because meat is too expensive--he will not be full after eating and the addiction to chocolate and carbs will cause him to want to eat more which he cannot financially afford. Drinking lots of pure water is good because it will fill you up.
Yes, World Hunger is a sad issue. But there are ways to keep from being hungry on a low budget. It is this knowledge of nutrition that can cause people to stay satiated and not go hungry on a low budget.
