FIGHTING THE AMALEKS IN OUR LIVES

"Amalek came and fought against Israel at Refidim. Exodus 17:8
"The physical attack of the nation of Amalek was the outer manifestation of the spiritual attack of the people’s inner Amalek – their doubt regarding G‑d’s care and involvement in their lives." [Chabad.org]

Doubting G-d's existence, not allowing Him to show Himself, being a doubting Thomas, scoffing at the spiritual, saying it does not exist, curbing your imagination, feeling an arrogant pride when you scoff at G-d and say you are better than someone who is well developed spiritually, having an inability to perceive what we cannot see, feel, touch, or hear and falsely calling this a strength.

Laughing at another's religious beliefs and saying they are erroneous, claiming a false sense of success because you cannot allow yourself to perceive the spiritual. Having an underdeveloped imagination and saying this is a sign of greater health.

Fighting all these negativities and coming forth from darkness to a love for G-d, and using this love to fight all your inner Amaleks, those tendencies that keep you in a shadowy state without a love of or for the Divine, halting a misperception of abstract thinking and a denial of and its benefits to yourself and to those around you.

Not giving up on the benefits of your abilities to perceive the holy, to create holiness, and to be nurtured by G-d, because someone else tells you it is unhealthy or improper.

Keeping The Faith!
