Things go wrong, there are mess ups, things happen, a good day can become a bad day, stars in the sky may not shine, a blue sky could be gray, your favorite radio station could have static, shoes you buy may not fit, someone might look at you the wrong way, a foul smell could perpetrate your nose, a food you taste may taste bitter or sour or could be spoiled, something you take for granted to be okay may throw you for a loop, someone you love may get hurt, you may not get your heart's desire even though the Torah says you will, bad things occur and there may be nothing you can do about it.
But then, all of a sudden, G-d sends an angel your way, and someone, anyone, someone who you never saw before or spoke to before--says a kind word to you and/or does a kind deed for you.
It is like a miracle, erasing all bad feelings, it becomes easy to breathe again, all malice and anger drop, a smile curls up on your lips, the angel came just in time, before you threw in the hat! What a relief! Someone something to believe in, even if it just for the moment: the goodness of humankind, a remedy, a cure, a nicety, a blessing.
To be SO thankful.
