Peaceful Shabbats, prepared meals by gourmet kosher chefs in a kosher kitchen, eating off of a separated meat from milk plate with pure separated silverware, getting Hungarian Goulash for the Kiddush, watching modern cowboy movies knowing it is all pretend: seeing horses and guns going off, actors not dying; and having freedom from computer access and popular music on Shabbat; then coming into my sanctuary and celebrating the Havdalah: lighting a candle, drinking a beverage, and smelling a spice. Closed the day after davening, reading Torah in the morning and afternoon, learning about the significance of the Hebrew alphabet, reading the Psalm corresponding to the day of the month; and remembering how I read about the definition of what "freedom" is, in the Pirkei Avot: and it said, "Freedom is having the ability to study Torah." > Yes! I am free! Free now and then on Pesach and will also be free IYH, for many years to come--with restful Shabbats and good health--having the freedom to study Torah--I will continue to have this truest form of "freedom." Free to be you and me! To study Torah! This is the definition of freedom.
